Over the last two weeks, Jenna Ellis, Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell, three lawyers central to Donald Trump’s attempt to overturn the 2020 election, pleaded guilty in the Georgia racketeering case against the former president and 18 co-defendants. All admitted significantly lesser crimes than charged and escaped prison time.Prosecutors may be more interested in Trump himself, but the lenient plea deals fail to comport with the culpability of these and other lawyers in Trump’s plot against the election. Eight attorneys were indicted in the Georgia case, and the federal indictment of Trump in the Jan. 6 plot includes five attorneys as unindicted co-conspirators, unnamed but identifiable as Powell, Chesebro, Rudolph W. SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) - The family of Dakotah Chapman-Green, the Illinois State Trooper who was shot multiple times in Springfield one week ago, has shared an update on his recovery.Chapman-Green's mother, Kris, said that her son is going through occupational therapy and physical therapy. He is also able to hold conversations while staying awake.Chapman-Green was shot in both legs while performing a traffic stop on Toronto Road in Springfield Tuesday night. He was also beaten with the gun, suffering a brain bleed and skull fracture.His mother said an ophthalmologist checked Chapman-Green's eye and said his vision should make a full recovery, since there is no ocular damage. VERNON, Ill. – A former Illinois state trooper who killed two Collinsville sisters due to reckless driving in November 2007 is still trying to regain his driving privileges some 16 years after the fatal collision.An Illinois State Police cruiser struck Jessica and Kelli Uhl head-on as they were traveling back from a family photo shoot on Interstate 64 near Highway 158 on Nov. 23, 2007. The girls died at the scene. Jessica was 18; Kelli was 13. Two other people were injured in the crash.Matt Mitchell, the trooper behind the wheel of the cruiser, was driving 126 miles per hour, talking to his girlfriend on a cellphone, and typing on the patrol car's computer when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed the median into oncoming traffic. COLUMBIA, Mo. - The United States Postal Service will consider moving some mail operations from mid-Missouri to St. Louis as part of a long-term plan for modernization. USPS is currently conducting a mail processing facility review of processing operations at its Columbia Processing and Distribution Center. Leaders are considering a change that would modernize the facility as a local processing center. Heavily armed police officers responded to a neighborhood in Montebello Tuesday afternoon after a shooting took place that apparently involved an officer.The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed to KTLA that a shooting occurred in the city and deputies were assisting the Montebello Police Department with the response.Video from Sky5 showed more than a dozen officers in a residential neighborhood, with roads blocked to traffic and an armored vehicle at the scene. 2 Killed, 1 Injured in Pedestrian Collision near 3rd StreetHANFORD, CA (October 31, 2023) – Maria Suarez and Jaylee Castro died Friday night in a pedestrian crash on Phillips Street.First responders arrived to the scene around 7:00 p.m., near 3rd Street.For reasons under investigation, the driver of an eastbound vehicle struck multiple pedestrians who were crossing from south to north.Paramedics took the three injured victims to a nearby hospital where two of them later died.
