There’s only so much that can be discerned watching Vikings players practice against teammates day after day at TCO Performance Center. That’s why Thursday’s preseason opener between the Vikings and Seahawks in Seattle can’t get here soon enough. It will provide a glimpse of something real.Though he hasn’t confirmed anything yet, Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell likely won’t let most of his starters suit up for live action. That will put some of the younger players on the roster in the spotlight over the next month. It raises the question: How has this year’s draft class looked at training camp? Let’s take a look:Jordan AddisonThere’s no doubt receiver Jordan Addison entered training camp with the most hype of any Vikings rookie. And it’s safe to say he has lived up to the hype so far. He already runs very crisp routes, accelerating in and out of cuts with relative ease, and attacks the ball anytime it’s in the...Colorado weather: Funnel clouds spotted north of Peyton; large hail, strong winds in widespread forecast

(CNN) — What are some of the most packed movie screenings at the Maya Cinemas Fresno 16 in Fresno, California, these days? “Oppenheimer?” The multiplex’s dozen daily showings of “Barbie?” Actually, it’s the matinees of both.In the early afternoons, when temperatures in central California have been circling triple-digits, people start heading into the theaters, said assistant manager Hope Torres. The heat is boosting attendance, she said — and the uptick started even before those blockbuster films opened. Maya Cinemas Fresno 16 keeps the thermostat at 68-70 degrees Fahrenheit, stocks up on frozen drinks and “when people come into the theater, they comment on how nice the air conditioning feels,” Torres said. This summer, scorching heat waves are helping take the movie box office to new levels. AMC, the world’s biggest theater chain, on Sunday reported its largest single-week admissions revenue (July 21-27) since the company’s founding in 1920. AMC attributed this 103-year high to the ...SF Giants’ lineup reinforcements arrive: Thairo Estrada activated from injured list

SAN FRANCISCO — The Giants’ biggest midseason upgrade arrived Saturday: Thairo Estrada was activated from a monthlong stint on the injured list. The Giants, in desperate need of a jolt to their lineup, added Estrada to the roster Saturday before the start of their two-game Bay Bridge series in Oakland. Left-handed-hitting infielder Isan Díaz was optioned back to Triple-A Sacramento.Since Estrada fractured his hand on an errant pitch on July 2, the Giants went 15-11. But they averaged only 3.3 runs per game.Estrada, worth 2.6 Wins Above Replacement, was the Giants’ most valuable position players when he hit the IL. His 18 stolen bases still pace the team, while his .761 OPS this season would be better than any regular but Wilmer Flores over the past month.Related ArticlesSan Francisco Giants | SF Giants’ Beck impresses again out of the bullpen to help clinch series vs. Arizona San Francisco Giants | SF Giants announce self-driving car compa...Santa Clara Sheriff's Office denies hijab removal allegations

(BCN) -- The Santa Clara Sheriff's Office denied Saturday that one of its deputies forcibly removed a hijab of a Muslim woman that was arrested and booked in a Milpitas correctional facility. The statement came days after the Council on American-Islamic Relations in the Bay Area (CAIR-SFBA) said the Muslim woman, Asia Aden, had her hijab "violently yanked" from her while being booked into Elmwood Correctional Facility, even though she asked to keep the headwear out of religious beliefs. "The Sheriff's Office received the complaint and reviewed the surveillance footage. Force was not used to remove the Hijab and in fact the complainant was asked to remove it herself," the Sheriff's public information office said. "In general, these garments must be searched upon entering the facility before they are returned or another is issued. The Sheriff's Office is committed to protecting people's religious rights while also ensuring the safety of everyone in the facilities," the law enfor...¿Cómo puede el caso de Nicolás Petro afectar la presidencia de su padre?
