Southbound 880 in Fremont shut down due to CHP activity (KRON) -- Southbound I-880 at Auto Mall Parkway in Fremont is shut down due to police activity, according to an alert. All lanes are currently blocked.A severe traffic alert is in effect, according to the California Highway Patrol. Traffic is being diverted at Fremont Boulevard. Motorists are being advised to expect delays and use alternate routes to avoid the area.
