D.C. law enforcement officials are confident that someone is harboring the murder suspect who escaped from police custody on Sept. 6, Assistant Chief of the Investigative Services Bureau Carlos Heraud said at a news conference Monday.Police are receiving tips daily on the whereabouts of 30-year-old Christopher Haynes, according to Heraud.“He’s not out there surviving on his own,” Heraud said. “And anybody that we identify that’s assisted him in aiding and abetting us, fleeing from the area or harboring him, any charges that we can put on them, we will, because we know he’s not doing it on his own.”It has been nearly two weeks since Haynes was arrested on a D.C. arrest warrant related to the Aug. 12 shooting death of 33-year-old Brent Hayward. On the afternoon of his arrest, police said Haynes complained about a preexisting ankle injury and was brought to the George Washington University Hospital for treatment. As an officer was trying to secu...

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Rob Refsnyder hit a go-ahead two-run single in the eighth inning and the Boston Red Sox snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the playoff-chasing Texas Rangers, who lost their fourth in a row even after getting two All-Star players back in their lineup Monday night.Boston rallied against reliever Will Smith (2-7), who walked No. 8 batter Luis Urias and then gave up a double that snapped No. 9 batter Connor Wong’s 0-for-17 slide. Refsnyder leads Red Sox to rare late comeback over Rangers

Published Sat, 22 Feb 2025 09:38:03 GMT

For too much of this season, the stars haven’t aligned for the Red Sox.When their pitching is on, their hitting is off. When their lineup is hot, it’s often because their pitching is ice cold. But on Monday night in Texas, the Red Sox managed to pitch and hit, and as a result, overcame an early deficit and snapped their four-game losing streak with a 4-2 victory over the Rangers.Kutter Crawford’s excellent night was bookended by trouble, but he was able to work his way out of both jams with minimal damage. The series opener’s starter began the bottom of the first by giving up a first-pitch leadoff home run to Marcus Semien, putting Boston in an immediate 1-0 hole. The Red Sox entered the series 26-52 when opponents score first, so the early deficit didn’t bode well for their starter or the game’s outcome. But after a one-out single in the first, the 27-year-old right-hander settled down and retired the next 14 batters en route to a quality start. In front of a crowd that include...

The statement was released after Canada expelled a top Indian diplomat Monday as it investigated what Trudeau called credible allegations that India’s government may have had links to the assassination in Canada of a Sikh activist.Trudeau said in Parliament that Canadian intelligence age...
