The Patriots have spent all season plugging holes on their injury-riddled offensive line, and Sunday they finally found a workable combination after bumping fourth-year lineman Mike Onwenu from right guard to right tackle. Will that prove a long-term move or a temporary shift? The Patriots coaching staff isn’t sure, and it will depend in large part on the unit’s injury situation.“We’ll have to see how it goes,” said offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien. “We practice tomorrow so we’ll see where everyone is relative to health and all those things as we move forward.”Onwenu allowed a single pressure in 37 pass-blocking snaps against Buffalo and earned his highest single-game grade this season from Pro Football Focus. As an offensive line, the Patriots recorded a 50% success rate on running plays and allowed pressure on just 21.2% of their dropbacks. The idea of Onwenu playing tackle isn’t new. FRANKLIN – Scott Paine knows it would add a lot more onto his plate as the MIAA statewide hockey tournament director. He also wants to ensure that as many people as possible enjoy the postseason experience. At Tuesday’s MIAA Tournament Management Committee meeting, the group voted unanimously that tournament games beginning with the quarterfinals (Round of 8) would be played at neutral facilities. For this round only, the higher seed would be allowed to select what was previously approved by the TMC with the understanding Paine would have final say.“I remember last year’s Reading-Braintree game in the Round of Eight where Braintree got the home game (at Zapustas Rink in Randolph) and we wound up turning away nearly 2,000 people,” Paine said. “We have great venues like Gallo, Loring, Stoneham, Chelmsford, Olympia, Woburn and Tsongas with more seating and they have proven that they want to host games.”Hockey is unique from most other MIAA sports in that few schools have thei...Britney Spears’ ‘The Woman in Me’: 8 takeaways from a book full of fury

She offers detailed, cogent accounts of indignities that would leave anyone seething. But Spears has clearly packed away a lot of frustration over the course of her 41 years — particularly toward the people who enabled her conservatorship, including much of her family, and toward the swarms of paparazzi who badgered her nonstop.“The Woman in Me,” by Britney Spears. But soon. The book tracks Spears’ life from childhood to the not-quite-present — it ends before her brief marriage to Sam Asghari did — and it kicks off with a litany of relatives who showed signs of mental illness or alcoholism. Spears’ past is full of givers and receivers of abuse, including her grandma Jean, who in 1966 fatally shot herself with a shotgun on th...Rep. By Lisa Mascaro, Stephen Groves, Farnoush Amiri and Kevin Freking, Associated Press WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican Tom Emmer abruptly abandoned his bid to become House speaker Tuesday, withdrawing hours after winning the internal party nomination once it became clear he would not have enough support from GOP colleagues for the gavel.Emmer, the GOP Whip, reversed course after Donald Trump objected to his nomination and hardliners in the House denied the party leader the votes he would need.He is the third Republican to fall short, leaving dejected Republicans no closer to resolving the chaos they have created since ousting Kevin McCarthy at the start of the month.Emmer briskly left the building where he had been meeting privately with Republicans, and hopped into a waiting SUV. He said nothing in response to shouted questions as they drove off from the Capitol complex.Trump, speaking as he left the courtroom in New York where he faces business fraud charges, said his “un-endorsement” m...Anger boils in Morocco’s earthquake zone as protesters demand promised emergency aid

The protest followed a worker’s strike and torrential weekend storms that exacerbated hardship for residents living in tents near the remains of their former homes.“Amizmiz is down!,” men yelled in Tachelhit, Morocco’s most widely spoken Indigenous language.Entire neighborhoods were leveled by the Sept. 8 quake, forcing thousands to relocate to temporary shelters. RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina Republicans closed in Tuesday on enacting new boundaries for the state’s congressional and legislative districts that aim to fortify GOP prospects both in the narrowly divided Congress and in the state General Assembly, where conservatives hope to solidify control there for the rest of the decade. The full Senate voted along party lines for maps for the state’s congressional delegation and for the Senate’s own districts. The state House voted later Tuesday for districts in their own chamber. House and Senate leaders aimed for their chambers to give final approval to all three maps Wednesday. They were all drawn by Republicans in time for the 2024 elections after recent state Supreme Court rulings reversed decisions of the court last year that had thrown out proposed district lines it had deemed were illegal partisan gerrymanders. The state’s highest court flipped from a Democratic to a Republican majority with the 2022 elections, ...Georgia man killed himself as officers sought to ask him about escapees, authorities say
